- Hello to everyone ! Going to use this space / thread as a way to offer my thoughts and impressions about the "week that was" for all of us , and for any other general news you might need to know about ....
- like , The Game of the Week ! For Round 1 , it is :
TerryMalloy vs Queenscounselor - White initiates a white Bishop trade on move 4 , and thus plays to control all the white squares of mid-board and those diagonals ,which allows for a piece-grabbing attack on c-column ....
- A decent week for everyone . We've got two teams with 1 MP ; and nobody got swept
It's only week 1 so we're all still in the hunt ...
- Some good wins from poni , Paul , MeanMrM , a two-fer from Twenty
, AP , Dan , and farbror (1st STC win !) Ironically , all had a central theme of attack/dominance of either the a- or h-column . Even Dan , who stayed with his middle thrust , eventually wins because of controlling the long diagonals from Qside corner ...
- Even our draws were entertainng ...
- Thanks to all who started negotiating right away and even got the game scheduled before 0400 Wed , when I got home . An early post of offers can only help you , and I have already noticed opponents offering mainly Wed and Thurs times , so that if you don't even look at the thread until Thurs , you're screwed ...
- One good thing for XP and 2000 : only 1 week of revenge games , albeit with an unknown team at the moment . 2000 ( 5-team division) has to stay out of their division's 5th place cellar to insure that they play that week at all ....
- A couple of good wins already in week 2 Keep the good vibes going ....
